It's Our 40th Reunion!
Early Summer 2011!

We realize it seems far away, but as you've probably noticed, time seems to be passing a lot faster than it did back in 1971.  So we're starting now, looking for 1971 Chargers to make our 40th Reunion the biggest and best attended yet!

Let's face it... we're NOT getting any younger.  As we approach the 40th and hopefully a 50th, as one of our dear classmates put it.. it's kinda like "LAST CALL" at the bar.  If you're ever going to go to one, GO to this one!

We also would really appreciate your support in keeping this website up and running through the reunion date in 2010!  We have set up a Paypal account, and appreciate ANY donation, no matter how small, to cover the cost of the website annually and all printed materials Margi will be sending out.  Thanks for you contribution!

Silly for sure.. but beautiful inside and out!
Silly for sure.. but beautiful inside and out!
It is with a very heavy and hurting heart that I post this message to our classmates.  Margi McCune passed away July 3, 2009 very unexpectedly in her sleep.  Over the past 8 years Margi and I had become the best of friends, although we really were never acquainted in high school.  There was not a month go by that we wouldn't meet for lunch at Monterrey House, both of us with our coupons in hand.  A week never went by without us talking on the phone, and our late night early morning emails were always fun and the type of thing best friends just do. She really was a nut... this picture will confirm that!  She's the one that talked ME into helping her make this next reunion the biggest and best yet.  She and I even talked about this possibly being the "LAST CALL" that we stated here when we made the website.

I was never so honored as when at our recent luncheon with the girls of the class, many of whom had not been in touch since our last reunion... Margi said she really wanted to let the class know they needed to come to the reunion this time.  Maybe not so much to see old friends but to make new ones like she had with me.  She truly was my best friend.

So I ask that you bear with me, and give me some time to pull this together.  All of our information was on her computer... I just did the website.  And often in the last two months I've been so busy that she was even taking care of it.  This will be difficult to overcome... but I think she would want us to go on with the planning.  I pray someone will step up to the plate and help us .  Her shoes will be impossible to fill, and we don't expect someone else to devote the time and energy she did.  But together hopefully we can try.

Services for Margi will be Tuesday, July 7th at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Downtown Tulsa.  If you would like to send an email to me, I am copying and pasting the messages to a document to print and give to her daughters Lauren and Blair and her mom and dad.

I know one thing for sure... she's really probably very pissed off that she won't be at the reunion.  She was SO looking forward to it.

I love you Margi.
