Dale Todd passed away Dec. 22, 2011. He and his wife had made reservations to attend the reunion in Sept. but then were not able to come. It is so sad that another classmate is gone and that we didn't have the chance to visit one more time. I received this from Patti Pitchford Ritchey today and she asked I let all of you know who had Mrs. Holland as a teacher at Memorial. Josephine Holland April 22nd, 2011 Josephine “Jo” Khourie Holland, 91 of Lafayette, died Friday, April 22, 2011 at St. Anthony Healthcare. Born January 4, 1920 in Boynton, OK, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Vifa Haddad Khourie. She graduated from Boynton High School in 1937 where she was the valedictorian of her graduating class. She attended Northeastern State Teachers College in Talequah, OK where she received her Bachelor’s degree in education, with a major in business and a minor in English in 1942. She received her Master’s degree in education with a major in business education from the University of Oklahoma. She was divorced. She retired from teaching in May, 1982. She was a life-long “Sooner” until she moved to Lafayette, IN in August, 1982 to be close to her daughter and grandchildren. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lafayette, IN since 1990. She was a past member of the YWCA Cosmopolitan Club where she had served as secretary for two years and one year as vice-president. She became inactive in later years. She was also a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma sorority. She is survived by her daughter, Glenda Holland Cornstuble (husband, Rick) of Lafayette; one brother, James Khourie (wife, Wanda) of Tulsa, OK; and one sister, Madelyn Olds of Las Vegas, NV. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Erika Cornstuble Koff (husband, Ben) of Naperville, IL and Eden Cornstuble of Kokomo, IN; twin great granddaughters, Yael and Zoe Koff; and one nephew, Gary Olds of Las Vegas, NV. She was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Khourie. Visitation Tuesday 5-7 p.m. at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Service 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Emeritus Jacob Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park, Tulsa, OK. Graveside services and burial have been entrusted to Moore’s Chapel, Tulsa, OK. Hippensteel Funeral Home entrusted with care. Hello Al! Even though I am marked as "missing" I am not. Memory lane is fun, isn't it. I lost my yearbooks in a fire in 1988, so I cnnot put names and faces together. I am trying to rememver the names of the two guys that used to call me "Ace" with the worst scarcasm. : ) I would like to have a few words with them at the reunion. : ) See ya there! I am also trying to remember who was in my homeroom class Junior year, a science class, I cnnot think of the coaches name ( not Lusk) The crowd got together and had a Christmas gift for me when I got back from my "family problems" ( actually I was in jail for running away from home) . I want to thank them, and tell them how much that meant to me over the years. I thought of their kindness everytime I had a teen girl in my courtroom. Step forward if you were in that homeroom.
