The Search for Classmates is on!
Image

As we move toward 2011, we come to realize over the past 35+ years, the best way to do anything correctly is start early!

I think the older we get the more that is true as well.  And with the technology of 2008 as we start this quest, we're hoping to find more "lost" classmates than ever before!

Speaking of "technology"... here I sit typing a BLOG.  By definition.. yes I really looked this up.. a BLOG is A frequent, chronological publication of personal thoughts and Web links.  It's short for WEBLOG.  Neither words of course would have been ever discussed in Mrs. McDougal's class.

A blog is often a mixture of what is happening in a person's life and what is happening on the Web, a kind of hybrid diary/guide site, although there are as many unique types of blogs as there are people.

So this dear friends, will be the BLOG of the life of Memorial Class of 1971.
You can help make it more interesting if you participate as well.  We this to be a place where anyone from our class can open discussions, make suggestions for Reunion 2011 to make it better... pretty much whatever is on the mind of the class.

But we do ask that you refrain from sales pitches, religious or political statements, and all that junk that can cause negative reactions in others with differing opinions.  Keep in clean, keep it fun.. and let's pretend we're YOUNG again and blog!  :-)

Linda Hobson's backyard on 51 St. near Yale. It was magic. When I can't sleep or need to meditate I think about Linda's yard. There were trees to climb, a rope swing, a huge sandbox, great places to hide and seek. A big metal thing to go swimming in. Crab apples to pick. The Mitchell's next door had an open gas flame that always burned. I used to think you grew Johnson grass as a crop! How 'bout going down to the "gate" to meet Emily Rholeder? Her family boarded a horse and later the shed was turned into a playhouse. Oh, it was rich. To be young, silly, laughing and running again----I can do it all with my imagination. Thanks for the memories.

Speaking of Linda Hobson... anyone have any information on where she might be?  She's one of the "Missing".

Also, your assignment for the next 2 years is to keep spreading the word to others in our class to join us on here. We want to include EVERYONE and have a great turn out for our 40th!!

Last time I spoke with Steve and Linda, they were living outside the Houston area.  Steve was in pretty bad shape at the time and wasn't really to coherent.  If you want their phone number, let me know and I will send it to you.

I spoke with Steve Underwood last night and he sounding much improved than he did two years ago.   He and Linda have 2 daughters, one of whom is a MIT grad, and one granddaughter.

I may be screwing up here, but I assume you realize that Linda Hobson is now Linda Underwood.

Hi Fellow Chargers!

Looking forward to our 40th reunion in 2011.  I have been in Houston, Texas for well over 30 years now.  I have two sons; one in middle school and one in high school.  I got a pretty late start; had my first child when I was 41.

Does anyone know the whereabouts of Randy Looney?  I have not talked to him in nearly 15 years.  Is he still in Tulsa?  I would appreciate any info.  Thanks so much.
